Do Not Worry

Nathan’s favorite quote from the Bible

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.  Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life. Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Luke 12:22

Nathan wants to be a barber, but his parents want him to go into dentistry because he can make more money that way. Sound familiar? I know it’s easy to say to other people to go for their dreams, but it is hard when you are the main character of your own narrative.

We all have fears that hold us back from doing what we truly want to do. We want to have a secure life with shelters, food, and other necessities. That’s understandable. But maybe we are not asking enough, not demanding enough. We live in an abundant world. Ask you shall receive. It seems that we are not really afraid that our dreams never come true. We are afraid that our dreams do come true. Can it be? Can life be this good? What’s the catch? Even we are doing what we love, there is still this fear. What’s out there to get me?

If you can’t take control of your mind, it will take control of you. If you can’t take control of your own destiny, it will take control of you. Don’t settle. DON’T BE AFRAID. Be brave, be bold, be courageous. It is all yours if you would accept it, take it, and own it.

Vibe With It

Downtown SF

I really like his jacket. I like his vibe too. Most people I shoot on the streets are completely strangers to me. But I can have a good sense about people pretty quickly even just by how they walk (and body language in general). I can tell if they are in a hurry or if they are not in a good mood, or maybe they are just snobby, haha. I usually only approach people who have a good vibe and who are interesting to me, and of course they need to have a good taste in fashion. lol. I need to stay close to the theme of my blog and stay focused. Otherwise, there are a lot of things going on on the streets of SF.

Signature Jacket

Downtown SF

I always want to capture some of the bikers on the street of SF. But they are usually moving, it’s hard to get a good shot of them. You know I really like cool jackets and coats. Here is a great example of a signature jacket. The brand is Triple F.A.T. Goose, he is not sure if they are still around any more. (They actually are. I took a look. It’s an 80s brand. They fell off the market but made a comeback after 15 yeas in 2010. Their jackets are specialized For Arctic Temperature, therefore, you got F.A.T in the name.)

Give me a good jacket, I’ll give you a man.

IMG_3846 copyIn a previous post, one said Chicago doesn’t have its distinguished style. I disagree.

Because of the season, I see many women wear trench coats and men wear very stylish jackets.

Patrick is an optician. What I notice is that architects and opticians have very good taste in the design and texture of clothes. Or is it just a coincidence? We’ll see.

Going back to the title though. Just like every girl needs to have her little black dress, I think every man should have his signature jacket.
